At Maker Mindz, we believe that talent and passion for STEM know no economic or geographical boundaries. We envision a world where every bright mind, regardless of their financial background, has the opportunity to pursue their scientific and technological aspirations.

That's why we're proud to launch the Maker Mindz Global STEM Scholarship Program. This annual $500 scholarship is designed to support high school students worldwide who demonstrate a strong commitment to STEM fields but face financial challenges.


We're looking for driven individuals ready to make a difference in the world through innovation, curiosity, and hard work.

 The Maker Mindz Global STEM Scholarship provides $500 grant to help you overcome financial hurdles and invest in your STEM future. This grant can be used for:

  • Educational Resources: Textbooks, online courses, software, or specialized learning materials.
  • Project Supplies: Components for robotics, coding projects, science fair experiments, or engineering challenges.
  • Workshop & Program Fees: Costs associated with STEM camps, workshops, or academic competitions.
  • Technology Access: Essential tools like a reliable laptop, scientific calculator, or specialized lab equipment.
  • Other STEM-Related Needs: Any expense that directly supports your engagement in STEM.

Eligibility

We welcome applications from high school students globally who meet the following criteria:

  1. Global Reach: Currently enrolled in high school anywhere in the world.
  2. STEM Engagement: Demonstrated a clear and sustained passion for Science, Technology, Engineering, or Math. This could be through club participation, personal projects, coursework, competitions, or self-learning.
  3. Financial Need: Experienced economic hardship that has prevented you from fully pursuing your STEM interests or post-secondary education.
  4. Academic Potential: Show promise and dedication in your studies.

How to apply

Applying for the Maker Mindz Global STEM Scholarship is a chance to tell us about your journey, your dreams, and how this scholarship can make a real difference. Here’s what you'll need to submit:

 

Completed Online Application Form: Provide your personal details and academic information.

Proof of STEM Engagement: Share examples of your involvement in STEM – project photos, club certificates, competition awards, or descriptions of your work.

Proof of Economic Need: Submit documentation that verifies your financial situation (e.g., income statements, school financial aid letters, or a detailed explanation of your circumstances).

Letters of Recommendation (2): Provide two letters from teachers, mentors, or club advisors who can speak to your character, passion for STEM, and academic potential.

Personal Video (2-3 minutes): Create a short video telling us your story.

  • What sparked your interest in STEM?
  • What are your STEM aspirations?
  • How has your economic situation impacted your ability to pursue these interests?
  • How will you specifically use the $500 scholarship money to further your STEM journey?

Essay/Statement on Usage: A written explanation (200-300 words) detailing exactly how you plan to utilize the $500 scholarship funds to advance your STEM goals.

 

Key Dates:

  • Application Window: Open 24/7, 365 days a year.
  • Annual Cut-off for Current Year: December 31st.
  • Winner Announced: February 1st.

At Maker Mindz, we believe that world-changing ideas can spark in any classroom. However, far too many dedicated educators are held back by underfunded budgets, lacking the basic materials needed for hands-on learning.


To help bridge this gap, we are launching the Global Underserved Schools STEM Grant. This annual $500 award is open to Title I schools (in the United States) and socioeconomically disadvantaged or underserved secondary schools globally. Our goal is simple: to put resources directly into the hands of teachers who are fighting to keep curiosity alive.

  This grant provides flexible funding for General Program Support. Selected schools can utilize the $500 for:

  • Hands-on Kits: Robotics supplies, circuit boards, or chemistry lab materials.
  • Software & Licensing: Subscriptions for coding programs, CAD software, or educational games.
  • Makerspace Infrastructure: 3D printer filament, tools, or safety gear.
  • STEM Clubs & Competitions: Registration fees for local or international robotics and science events.

To accommodate different school calendars across the hemispheres, applications are accepted on a rolling basis year-round.

  • The Pool: All submissions are collected into an active pool throughout the year.
  • Annual Award: Every year, our committee selects one underserved school to receive the $500 grant.
  • Annual Cut-off: December 31st.
  • Winner Announced: February 1st.
