Company Overview:

We are a non-profit organization headquartered in North Carolina, committed to inspiring and educating young minds in STEM through the use of innovative products and immersive hands-on workshops featuring real-world items. We are a forward-thinking, mission-driven organization working on educational video game designed to engage and educate middle and high school students. We are seeking a talented AI Advisor/Consultant to guide the development process and ensure that AI is effectively integrated into our game design.

Responsibilities:

• Provide expert advice on incorporating AI concepts and technologies into mobile game design.
• Collaborate with game designers and developers to implement AI-driven features and mechanics.
• Assist in brainstorming and prototyping AI-related educational games, ensuring alignment with learning goals.
• Ensure that AI algorithms and models used in games are accurate, efficient, and suitable for the target audience.
• Offer guidance on game AI components, such as adaptive learning, procedural content generation, and AI-driven decision-making.
• Review and provide feedback on AI game concepts, ensuring feasibility and optimization.
• Stay updated on the latest trends and advancements in AI and mobile gaming, and apply them to projects where appropriate.

Requirements:

• Proven experience in artificial intelligence and machine learning, particularly in the context of game development.
• Strong understanding of AI concepts such as neural networks, reinforcement learning, natural language processing, and more.
• Experience with AI frameworks and programming languages (e.g., Python, TensorFlow, Keras, PyTorch).
• Ability to provide actionable guidance to non-technical team members, such as game designers and educators.
• Familiarity with game development platforms (e.g., Unity, Unreal Engine) and AI integration.
• Strong communication skills, with the ability to explain complex AI concepts in an easy-to-understand manner.
• Passion for education and creating AI-driven games that promote learning in students K-12.

Preferred Qualifications:

• Experience in mobile game development.
• Previous experience with AI in educational or serious games.
• Understanding of user experience (UX) design, especially for educational tools and mobile games.

Compensation: 

This is a volunteer role. 

Work Authorization:

Ability to work in the US without Visa sponsorship.
