Description:

  We are looking for an innovative and passionate remote Physics Instructor who can bring physics to life through a hands-on, practical approach using everyday household items. In this volunteer role, you will teach middle and high school students the principles of physics, demonstrating how these concepts apply to the world around them. Despite being an online course, your lessons will be interactive and experiential, ensuring that students actively engage with the material through experiments and projects that can be conducted at home. 

Responsibilities:

• Instruction: Lead online physics classes that emphasize hands-on learning, using household items to demonstrate key concepts such as motion, energy, electricity, magnetism, waves, and more.
• Curriculum Development: Collaborate with our educational team to design lesson plans that incorporate practical, real-world applications of physics concepts, and develop engaging experiments that students can perform at home.
• Interactive Learning: Utilize online teaching tools to create an engaging virtual classroom environment where students can participate in live demonstrations, ask questions, and collaborate with peers.
• Hands-On Projects: Guide students through hands-on projects and experiments, ensuring that they understand the underlying physics principles and how to apply them in real-world scenarios.
• Real-World Applications: Teach students how physics is applied in everyday life, from simple machines to electronics, and encourage them to explore how the concepts they learn impact the world around them.
• Feedback and Assessment: Monitor student progress, provide constructive feedback, and adjust teaching methods as needed to accommodate different learning styles.
• Resource Development: Create supplementary materials, such as instructional videos, written guides, and experiment templates, to support students' hands-on learning experience.
• Community Engagement: Foster a collaborative online learning community where students feel supported and inspired to explore physics beyond the classroom.

Qualifications:

• Strong knowledge of physics, with a focus on practical applications and hands-on learning.
• Previous teaching or tutoring experience, particularly with middle and high school students, is preferred.
• Ability to simplify complex concepts and create engaging, hands-on learning experiences using common household items.
• Excellent communication and presentation skills, with the ability to effectively teach in an online environment.
• Familiarity with online teaching platforms, such as Zoom, Google Meet, or Microsoft Teams.
• High-speed internet connectivity to ensure smooth and uninterrupted virtual instruction.
• Creativity and innovation in teaching methods, with a passion for making physics accessible and enjoyable for all students.
• Strong organizational skills and the ability to manage a virtual classroom effectively.

Compensation:

This is a part-time contract opportunity. Current compensation does not include 401K, employee pension, health, vacation pay, sick pay, or other fringe benefits. 

Work Authorization:

Ability to work in the US without Visa sponsorship.
