Position Title: STEM Instructor

Job Summary:
We are seeking an enthusiastic and knowledgeable STEM Instructor to join our team. The selected resource will be responsible for conducting real-world STEM related demonstrations at schools in the North Carolina area, as and when required. The primary objective will be to engage and educate students in hands on learning of science and engineering concepts.
Responsibilities:
- Conduct on-site live sessions at schools, primarily in the greater Charlotte, North Carolina area.
- Encourage students to move beyond the theoretical curriculum by involving them in practical, hands-on activities.
- Explain the science and engineering principles that underlie everyday products in a clear and engaging manner, tailored to the appropriate grade level.
- Collaborate with teachers, event organizers, and school administrators to ensure smooth coordination and scheduling of sessions.
- Set up and dismantle instruction materials and equipment as needed, ensuring their proper functioning and safety.
- Address questions from students, teachers, and parents regarding the live sessions and related concepts.
- Stay updated on the latest advancements and research in relevant scientific and engineering fields to enhance presentations.
- Maintain accurate records of activities, including attendance, feedback, and any issues encountered during the sessions.
- Adhere to all company policies and safety guidelines during the performance of duties.
Qualifications:
- Strong knowledge and understanding of science and engineering concepts, particularly in areas relevant to our programs/services.
- Experience working with children and a passion for STEM education.
- Excellent communication and presentation skills, with the ability to engage and inspire students of various age groups.
- Ability to simplify complex concepts and tailor explanations to different learning levels.
- Proactive and adaptable, able to work independently and problem-solve effectively.
- Availability to work on an as-needed basis, with flexibility to accommodate varying schedules and locations.
- Resides in or around the Charlotte, North Carolina area, with reliable transportation to travel to different schools.
- Ability to set up and handle demonstration equipment safely, following all necessary guidelines.
- Previous experience in educational outreach, science demonstrations, or similar roles is preferred but not mandatory.
- Must pass any required background checks or screenings necessary for working with children.
- Must have a valid driver's license, clear DMV driving record and reliable transportation.
- Most importantly, must have LOT of energy and enthusiasm to engage and excite students about STEM!
Compensation:
This is a part time contract opportunity. Current compensation does not include 401K, employee pension, health, vacation pay, sick pay, or other fringe benefits.
Work Authorization:
Ability to work in the US without Visa sponsorship.
