We are a forward-thinking, mission-driven organization working on educational video game designed to engage and educate middle and high school students. We are seeking a talented 2D/3D Artist to bring our game’s world to life with stunning visual assets for both 2D and 3D environments. 

Description:

 The 2D/3D Artist will be responsible for creating high-quality visual assets for our video games. This includes designing characters, environments, user interface (UI) elements, animations, and other graphical content that supports the narrative and learning objectives of the game. The ideal candidate will be proficient in both 2D and 3D design, with experience in game development and a strong portfolio demonstrating their ability to create compelling visuals for educational or entertainment products. 

Responsibilities:

• Collaborate with game designers, developers, and the creative team to design 2D/3D assets that align with the game's vision, educational goals, and technical requirements.
• Create characters, environments, props, and UI elements for both 2D and 3D game formats.
• Design high-quality textures, models, and animations for 3D objects and characters.
• Optimize assets for performance while maintaining visual integrity across platforms (mobile and web).
• Ensure all artwork adheres to the artistic style and visual standards of the game.
• Work with the development team to integrate assets into the game engine.
• Provide input on visual storytelling and user experience (UX) to enhance gameplay engagement.
• Iterate on feedback from the team and testers to refine and improve visual elements.
• Assist in developing marketing and promotional material as needed (e.g., trailers, promotional images).

Experience:

• 2+ years of professional experience as a 2D/3D Artist in game development.
• Strong proficiency in industry-standard software such as Adobe Photoshop, Illustrator, Blender, Maya, 3ds Max, or similar.
• Experience in creating both low-poly and high-poly assets for games.
• Experience with Unity or Unreal Engine for asset integration and optimization.

Skills/Portfolio:

• Ability to design characters, props, and environments with a strong understanding of anatomy, form, color theory, lighting, and perspective.
• Competence in UV mapping, texturing, rigging, and animating 3D models.
• Familiarity with optimizing assets for mobile games, ensuring efficient performance.
• Strong sense of visual storytelling and the ability to create educational, visually appealing experiences.
• Understanding of how to design UI/UX elements that enhance the player experience.
•  A strong portfolio showcasing 2D and 3D game assets, with examples of characters, environments, UI/UX design, and animations. 

 Preferred Qualifications:

• Experience working on educational games.
• Experience in procedural content generation or creating assets for interactive learning environments.
• Familiarity with Agile development methodologies and working in collaborative teams.

Compensation:

This is a project-based contract role with flexible hours. Compensation will be based on experience and project scope.

Work Authorization:

Ability to work in the US without Visa sponsorship.
